Loide Rosa Jorge

Loide Rosa Jorge is a graduate of American University's Washington College of Law and an immigration lawyer who runs her own firm in Washington, D.C.'s U Street Corridor. She immigrated to the U.S. from France as a child and maintains that having experienced the stress of an immigration status in limbo really impacted the way she runs her practice now. In describing her firm's mission, Ms. Jorge states, "[N]othing can beat the peace of mind that comes from dealing with a good immigration attorney that you know you can trust! I want to provide nothing less for my clients."

It's not just the personal connection that distinguishes Ms. Jorge from other immigration lawyers -- she is also an acclaimed jazz vocalist who incorporates her African heritage, eclectic roots (extending as far as Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau), and multilingualism into her music. Over the last decade, she has performed at numerous speakeasies and jazz clubs across the nation, ranging from Blues Alley to the Nathaniel Holt Theater. Check out some of the tracks from her self-titled album, LOIDE, here.
