As a 9 year old, I left Honduras in search of my mother who came to the US to escape Hurricane Mitch. I was left behind with aging granparents. Soon they both passed away and I was alone. It took years to re build our mountain village of Mar Axul. Even today, there is no electricty, only a one room school, small church and no medical care, law enforcement or judicial system. In the 7 years I have been in the US, I now have a 4.0 GPA and am a member of National Honor Society. Please visit my video story, "Candelario: A Young Immigrant's Story" on Youtube.Thanks,
